Learning Outcomes

1. Undertake legal research; including finding case law, legislation, secondary materials and extrinsic materials.
2. Read and interpret case law including identifying ratio.
3. Demonstrate an understanding of the legislative process, structure of legislation and use principles of statutory interpretation to construe legislation.
4. Apply legal problem solving skills taught in this unit to questions and produce written answers using these problem solving skills.
5. Identify and discuss elements of the adversarial system.
6. Demonstrate an understanding of the arms of government.
7. Write assessment tasks clearly, concisely and grammatically using plain English writing techniques that comply with assessment instructions.
8. Undertake a group assessment task and reflect on that experience.
